Poetry

Poems (in all their varied forms) are a wonderful
way, to express oneself creatively. I always
was intrigued by this art form. In 1994, I had
the pleasure, to meet the late Harriet Kofalk,
who was so supportive of me (and many others),
to try myself in writing poetry. I am grateful
for her encouragement, kind critique and warm
 heart.

Following are three of my first poetic creations.
They were written, to reflect my understanding,
 relationship and interconnectedness with nature
and spirit. May you enjoy reading them.

I am Nature

Sometimes I feel like an eagle,
    soaring around mountain tops
    and watching the land below.

Sometimes I feel like a squirrel,
    climbing in the evergreens
and listening to the sounds of the forest.

Sometimes I feel like a deer,
    grazing in a wildflower meadow
and feeling the sunshine on my skin.

Sometimes I feel like an otter,
    playfully diving through the waters
and enjoying the bounty of the ocean.

Sometimes I want to run wild again,
    feel, smell, see, dance, sing
    and connect to all around
without being a stranger and intruder.

  Reclaiming my natural rights.
I am nature, I am part of all.

Sacred Space

  Stones side by side
        Stones like a fortress
              Stones of a sacred circle.

  Energy flows, circles and penetrates,
    connects with everything.

  Spirits felt all around, embrace,
those drawn into this sacred space.

True simple beauty warms heart and soul
and let the senses dance in peace and harmony.

Honoring nature, it's powers and gifts,
prayers ascend - so sacred this ground.

Ancient Teachers

   Trees so tall
   Trees so ancient,
   reaching high into the sky.

   Sunlight warms your branches,
weighted heavy with lichen and moss.

   Tell me your story,
   your joys and sorrow.
   I am here to listen...
To build community with everything around.
   To immerse myself completely,
   exchanging energy, compassion and love.

   Give and receive - share.

   Trees so tall
   Trees so ancient,
   reaching out to all around.

Brooks rush underneath your massive bodies,
wherever they build a natural bridge.

   Fallen giants - thank you
You are still of service, help and beauty,
long after your own cycle ended.
   You give me hope
You fill my soul with love and light
   I am here to see...
To understand the rhythm of the universe.
   To touch infinity,
   merging with time and space.

   Being all - being one.
